Urban League of Long Island Partners With Blue Surge Marketing Agency For New Website

Its been a long time coming.

Its been a long time coming.

Urban League Long Island, Inc. would like to welcome all of our members, readers, and community to our newly revamped websites at UrbanLeagueLongIsland.org and SOBLI.org. Over the years, we’ve watched our Movement grow and watched as the technology was changed as well. This isn’t 1974 when we first launched and there was no such thing as the Internet. As such, we have learned to adapt to the times to share our mission and drive our members to take action in their communities. Therefore, one of our biggest goals for 2019 was giving our website a much-needed facelift.

Additionally, we wanted to simultaneously launch our research-based equity council, State of Black Long Island site, SOBLI.org.

We needed a visually appealing and modern site that would feature relevant and interactive content on the various equity agendas addressed by our the Urban League Long Island Inc., Movement.

Our Selection Process

After coming to the decision of moving forward with a new website, we wanted to make sure we worked with the right website design firm that would help us turn our vision into a reality. After several interviews and reaching out to various organizations, we finally selected a company. We wanted an experienced and professional web design firm that would effectively disseminate our story and satisfy the needs of our stakeholders, and overall increase public awareness of our organization’s mission.

Lastly but just as relevant, we wanted to firm that had cultural competency — one that had an extensive understanding and awareness of our primary audience. For that reason, we chose Blue Surge Marketing Agency, a digital marketing and web design company from Long Island, NY.

What’s New?

We collaborated with Godson Michel, the head of Blue Surge Marketing Agency to design and develop the functional site we were looking for that met our objectives. Our new site has several improvements and new features made to make it easier for all visitors. There was an emphasis placed on mobile responsiveness, which made our site look just as easy to view on phones and tablets as desktops.
