Urban League of Long Island Hosts State of Black Education Panel & Film Screening

We hosted The State of Black Education on Long Island panel discussion and showing of the film, Tell Them We Are Rising, a documentary on HBCUs & their impact on American history, culture & identity, which premiered on February 19th, on PBS’ Independent Lens, as part of our Education Equity initiatives.

Thank you to our panelists, Wayne Thompson, Dr. Monique Akil, Dr. Anael Alston and Abja Midha of The Education Trust, which works to close the gaps in opportunity and achievement for all students, pre-K through college.
